Warsaw re-building an old villa
Here an old house outside Warsaw was taken down and re-built to the original details, adding a basement below as a working studio and a lean-to extension on its West elevation. Materials from the original house were re-used where possible and where not, replaced by locally salvaged goods. The finished house is an insulated and structurally robust version of the original that was taken down. Sitting in the same position as the old house, the new building sits centrally in large grounds, with doors accessing the gardens on all sides.
