A house in the country
This old farmhouse is in a small village in the picturesque countryside of the Yorkshire Pennine region with commanding views across the valley opposite. It is a typical stone house of the area, with the original building dating back to the 17th Century. Over time the building has been added to, forming the house that stands today. The present owners bought the existing Grade II Listed property following extensive internal modernisation by previous occupiers that had damaged much of the building’s original character and charm. The design brief therefore sought to create a simple, crafted and rugged country retreat that was at once comfortable and welcoming.
