Belsize Park Terrace
The owners asked us to look at a run-down 1950’s terraced house on a tree-lined street in Belsize Park, London. The most important objective was to bring as much light into the house as possible whilst opening up spaces, creating views across and between floors for a modern and family friendly home. Since the house is in a conservation area we worked closely with the Camden Council Planning Department to get permission to add roof lights above the stairwell and in top floor bedrooms. A glass and steel staircase allowed the daylight to travel from the roof lights down to the ground floor whilst a modern steel and glass conservatory to the rear connects the small courtyard garden and the kitchen.
